Real Life with Bridget and Lauren

As best friends, we literally spend more time together than we do apart. This blog will document our experiences with fashion, working out, vegetarianism, random adventures, and anything else that comes our way! We always wish there was a camera crew around documenting our every move, but this blog and our soon to be vlog will just have to be the next best thing. Enjoy!

My Designs

I’m studying fiber art and fashion design at the College for Creative Studies, so today I’m going to to a post with some pictures of my work!  My friend Megan Marcoux took these adorable pictures:

The dark green dress, pink and white corset, pink belt, and blue skirt are made from handmade batik fabric, and the light green dress is hand-dyed.  I hope you enjoy them, and keep it real! Bridget

My friend Erica and I decided to cover “Pretty/Unpretty” from Glee, hope you like it! xoxo Quinn…errr…I mean Bridget! Haha keep it real!

Waitressing Rant

Victoria’s Secret Haul!

Wanna look like a precious Doe-eyed deer?

Yesterday I went to my local Sephora on the hunt for a new liquid black eyeliner because I had recently ran out. I asked the lady who was working there her recommendation. She suggested the Sephora Doe-eyed felt eyeliner:

She explained to me that the felt pen at the top gave you great control to create a precise line. The eyeliner was also only $10, which is actually VERY good for a department store eyeliner (MAC liners compare at $18). I also thought it was adorable that it was called doe eyed! It made me think of a cute doe eyed deer and then I thought of Bambi! Who wouldn’t want eyes as cute as Bambi?!

So of course I bought it and I was very excited to wear it for the first time. Just like the lady said, it went on very easily and precisely. I wore it to work, and what do you know?! A customer told me I had big doe eyes! Swear on my life that is what he said! So I said, “It’s funny you say that, because I just bought a new eyeliner called doe eyed!” Then he left me a fatty tip. Ummm…. cha ching!

The eyeliner also had great staying power. It did not budge, smear, or smudge for my entire 6 hour work shift! Yay! Good luck with your beauty buys, and keep it real! xoxo Lauren

Final Thoughts on Press-on Nails!

So awhile ago I bought Revlon fake press on nails because I wanted to try them out as an alternative to expensive salon gel nails. Just a little recap: They were 7 dollars, and went on very easy, and I was initially very happy with them. But I knew only time would tell how satisfied I really was with my purchase. After TWELVE days, numerous waitressing shifts, my nails were still on! I was shocked! I have gotten gel nails put on before that didn’t last that long! During those twelve days, two nails snapped off, and I was able to quickly replace them. Not too shabby! I couldn’t believe how much money I saved and that the cheap alternative ended up being one of my favorite beauty finds in my entire life! Now thats a reason for a happy face!

I definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants fake nails for a special event (or just because!) but can’t afford the salon price and upkeep. These are a great alternative. Even if you fake it sometimes with your nails, remember to always keep it real! xoxo Lauren

The first S is for SHEER and the second is for SHORT!  She kills two birds with one stone in this outfit:

And let’s not forget SKINTIGHT!  Hey, these pants look familiar…

All I Will Be Wearing This Summer

If I’m not spending my days in class or at work this summer, you can find me by or in Lauren’s pool. Yesterday she even came home to find me and my sister already there, oh what a fun surprise! Anyways, all throughout last summer I was dying for this Betsey Johnson Petal Pusher bikini but resisted…

But good things apparently come to those who wait, because I recently found a Victoria’s Secret bikini that was really similar and better yet, on sale!

Its the Beach Sexy Floral Ruffle Bandeau Top ($23) and Bottom ($13), and its the happiest bathing suit I’ve ever owned! Its cute together, and all the fun colors make it perfect for mixing and matching tops and bottoms with my other suits.

Keep it real this summer and rock your own bikinis with confidence! And make sure to wear your sunscreen, because while tan lines are cute, skin cancer is NOT. xoxoxo, love Bridget
